Telma has been growing within the new wave of young Lisbon DJ’s by sharing her voracious appetite for records around prominent venues in Lisbon and Porto. The club field has been familiar to her since the period she worked as a concert and party photographer, and a writer, reviewing music and festivals for webzines. All that period of attentive listening, observing, but also dancing along, would become in handy on the other side of the booth. Her choices in music are eclectic, but there's an undeniable threading line that goes from Detroit electro and techno, to freaky breaks and disco obscurities or classic acidic beats. Adventurous sounds that still retain a sense of groove. Telma co-runs her own night R U S T where she showcases and promotes some of the upcoming music around, featuring local DJs and live-acts in one of Lisbon’s underground landmark, Desterro. She's also founder of the collective Intera. An initiative that works both as a label and event promoter, semi-regularly taking over clubs and other spaces around town to discuss the challenges of operating within an industry with lack of female visibility, while boosting inclusivity and collaboration between local artists and music enthusiasts. Frequent presence at Rádio Quântica, independent online radio based in Lisbon, co-hosting Intera’s show, she has also participated in others such as East Side Radio (Lisbon), The Word (Brussels), Le Mellotron (Paris) or Balamii (UK). She has shared the bill alongside internationals like Kiara Scuro, Tapes, Red Greg, Cleveland or Danny Daze and many talented locals.
